Snorkelling at the beach Anse Chastanet on St. Lucia

One of the best places for snorkeling on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia at Anse Chastanet reef on the beach at Anse Chastanet. The reef starts just a few meters from the beach, and go very far and deep, making this an ideal place for beginners and experts.

It is a plateau on the cliff that reaches 5 feet from the surface and drops to about 25 meters. The reef itself is enough road and the end of the reef is a coral wall that drops from 20 to 140Feet.

The seahorses, giant turtles, batfish, frogfish, eagles and a ton of other exotic sea creatures at their home in this barrier. Depending on the time of day and season, there is always something exotic to see.

Something that makes this one of the best snorkeling in the Caribbean, the fact that Anse Chastanet reef marine protected and actually take off, so that boats are not allowed in the area. After a vacation recently, where the best place to see the seaTurtles in the vicinity was to launch a boat, I can relax because it allows in a place where boats are snorkeling testify!

If you are heading to St. Lucia without tools, simply place in a local school for enhanced immersion. A complete list of shops, and more information on snorkeling and diving in the region, see http://www.stlucia.org/activity/diving.asp found at
